The room
Small shop, long appointments
Apricot Yonder runs three chairs and deliberately no more. We would rather see fewer people in a day and give each of them enough time to talk through how the hair actually behaves, than turn a chair over every twenty minutes.
Every appointment starts dry and seated upright, because that is how you wear it. We cut to the growth pattern first and the reference picture second. If those two disagree, we will say so before we start, not after.
- Marlo Reyes — scissor work, heavy and curly hair, grown-out shapes.
- Ines Vaughn — skin fades, clipper detail, tight textured cuts.
- Teddy Oyelaran — hot towel shaves, beard shaping and grey blending.
Services and prices
What a chair costs
and how long it takes
Every time below includes the consultation. Prices are the same for every barber and every day the shop is open — there is no premium chair and no weekend surcharge.
Cuts and trims
-
The Yonder Cut £26
Consultation, wash, scissor or clipper work to suit the hair, hot towel on the neck and a razor finish at the edges.
-
Skin Fade £30
Clipper work taken down to the skin with the length on top cut to match. Holds its shape for roughly two weeks.
-
Scissor Crop £28
No clippers at all. The softer option for thick, wavy or curly hair, and for anyone growing out a shorter shape.
-
Tidy-Up £14
Neckline, ears and edges only, for clients who had a full cut with us in the previous four weeks.
-
Head Shave £24
Clipper down, razor over, balm to finish. Booked with Teddy or Ines.
Beard, shave and shorter chairs
-
Hot Towel Shave £29
Two towels, pre-shave oil, open razor with the grain then across it, cold towel and balm.
-
Beard Shape and Line £18
Cheek line, neck line and length taken back to an even shape. We will set the line where it grows, not where it is fashionable.
-
Cut and Beard £40
A full cut and a beard shape booked as one longer chair, so the two are balanced against each other.
-
Grey Blending £22
Softens rather than covers. Added to a cut on the same visit where the timing allows.
-
Under 12s £16
Booked into the quieter first hour of the day. First haircuts are welcome and we will not rush them.
-
Weekday Morning Rate £20
A standard cut at a quieter hour. Mention the morning rate in your request and we will hold one of those slots.
Choosing your cut
Four honest starting points
If you are not sure what to ask for, find yourself below and bring that sentence to the chair. It is more useful to us than a photograph.
-
You are growing it out
Book the Scissor Crop and come back every six weeks rather than stopping altogether. The awkward months are mostly a weight problem: taking a little out of the interior keeps the shape while the length arrives.
-
It is thinning at the crown
Shorter on the sides makes the top look denser than leaving everything long. Avoid a hard skin fade, which creates a contrast that draws the eye straight to the crown. Ask for a mid taper and matte product rather than anything shiny.
-
You have a double crown or a cowlick
Tell us before we start; it changes where the weight has to sit. A fringe pushed against a cowlick will lift every morning no matter how it is dried, so we will usually cut with it and shorten that section instead.
-
You want the least possible upkeep
Ask for one length you can maintain yourself, cut with scissors rather than faded. It grows out evenly instead of collapsing, which buys you eight or nine weeks between visits instead of three.

What the hour looks like
-
Arrive early
Five minutes is plenty. Come with dry, unstyled hair if you can — it tells us how it actually sits.
-
Talk it through
Ten minutes, seated upright, before anything is cut. We agree lengths, the neckline and how much you want to do at home.
-
The cut
Wash, cut, then a check in the mirror at the halfway point while changes are still easy to make.
-
Finish and rebook
We will show you how it was styled with one product and suggest when to come back. Rebooking is optional and never pushed.
Questions
Asked at the door most weeks
Do you take walk-ins?
Thursday evenings between five and eight are kept free for walk-ins, first come. On other days every chair is booked, so a walk-in only works if someone has cancelled that morning.
How far ahead should I book?
A week is usually enough mid-week. Saturdays and the last two weekdays before a bank holiday fill around three weeks ahead, so send a request early if the date is fixed.
What if I don't know what to ask for?
That is what the consultation is for, and it is included in every price above. Read the four starting points further up the page and bring whichever one sounds like your hair — a plain description of the problem beats a style name.
Can I bring a photo?
Yes, and it helps, as long as we can talk about it honestly. If the hair in the picture grows differently from yours we will tell you which parts we can get and which we cannot, before starting.
How often should I come back?
Skin fades look sharp for about two weeks and grow out by four. Scissor cuts hold six to eight. If you are between visits and only the edges have gone, book the twenty-minute Tidy-Up rather than a full cut.
Do you cut children's hair?
Yes, under twelves at £16, booked into the first hour of the day when the shop is quiet and the clippers are the only noise. Tell us in your request if it is a first haircut so we can allow extra time.
What happens if I need to cancel?
Reply to your confirmation the day before and there is no charge and no deposit to lose. Same-day cancellations are fine too, but that chair rarely gets filled, so please only do it if you have to.
